11th International Yoga Day 2025
The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at G.S. Amonkar Vidya Mandir, Dattawadi, Mhapsa, based on the theme “One Earth, One Health.” The event was organised in the school hall with active participation from students and teachers.
Mrs. Rakhi Morudkar, a renowned yoga trainer, was invited as the chief guest for the programme. The event began with a warm welcome and introduction of the chief guest by the school’s Physical Education teacher, Mrs. Utkarsha Gawade.
In her address, Mrs. Rakhi Morudkar highlighted the importance of yoga in our daily lives. She stated that yoga is a proud ancient tradition of our country and practising yoga regularly brings physical and mental well-being. She encouraged students to adopt yoga from a young age to enhance their concentration and sharpen their minds.
The students also participated actively in the programme. A short speech on the significance of yoga was delivered by student Aradhya Arolkar, inspiring fellow students to understand the many benefits of yoga.
Under the expert guidance of Mrs. Rakhi Morudkar, students enthusiastically performed various yoga asanas, relaxation exercises, breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation.
The programme concluded with all participants taking a pledge to practise yoga daily for a healthy life. Mrs. Utkarsha Gawade proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest and all who contributed to the success of the event.
