The 54th annual athletic meet of G. S. Amonkar Vidya Mandir Mapusa was held on 2nd December 2023 at Ganeshpuri ground Mapusa. The Chief Guest was Mr shailesh R. S. Zingde, the Director of Education. The Guest of Honour was Miss Christabel Menezes e Pinto, ex student and founder of Dhyana Foundation. Mr Mohan kaul School Manager presided over the function. The other dignitaries present were the Headmistress Pooja Dalvi, Assistant Head mistress Zena Viegas, Chairman of the school managing committee Advocate Sanjay Usgaokar, PTA Chairman Mr. Vaman khorjuvekat, PTA executive body members and the trustees. The annual athletic meet began with lighting the torch and the oath ceremony. Thereafter athletic events such as relay race, umbrella drill, zumba, pyramids, mass PT, rhythmic yoga, Tug of war, march past were held. A special run was also held for the parents. The winners were given trophies, medals and certificates at the hands of the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour and the other dignitaries. The Chief guest and the Guest of Honour were introduced by Rosary D’souza and Janice Faria. The Chief Guest in his speech appreciated and Congratulated the students and the school staff for a wonderful, well organised and well planned athletic meet. Vote of thanks was proposed by Assistant Headmistress Zena Viegas. The programme was compered by teacher Poonam Burye and Roshan Shet.
