G.S. Amonkar Vidya Mandir celebrated the 63rd Goa Liberation Day

G.S. Amonkar Vidya Mandir celebrated the 63rd Goa Liberation Day on 19th December 2024 with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ashok Vernekar, a proud alumnus and former PTA member, who hoisted the National Flag amidst the echoes of the National Anthem, symbolizing the spirit of freedom and unity.
The ceremony commenced with the orders for flag hoisting given by School Leader and NCC Cadet Miss Noorine Shaikh, ensuring a disciplined and well-organized start to the event. Prayers were led by the Assistant Headmistress, Mrs. Zena Viegas, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the occasion. Tr. Rupa Parab highlighted the significance of Goa Liberation Day, reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and the importance of preserving our hard-won independence. The Headmistress, Mrs. Pooja Dalvi, was present throughout the event, providing encouragement and support.
The entire program was conducted in Konkani, reflecting the pride in Goa`s rich linguistic heritage. Student Miss Vedika Salelkar eloquently spoke on the occasion, reflecting on the journey of Goa from liberation to its current development. Master Sarvesh Salgokar captivated the audience with a powerful monologue on the life and contributions of the renowned freedom fighter Purushottam Kakodkar, which inspired all present.
A group song written by Tr. Roshan shet and melodiously presented by the teachers added a heartfelt and artistic touch to the event. Additionally, a PowerPoint presentation by students Chavi and Lakshada depicted the patriotic spirit and the essence of Goa`s liberation. Students also performed a soul-stirring patriotic song and vibrant dance performances, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Ashok Vernekar, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of Goa Liberation Day and the vital role students can play in shaping the future of the state. He inspired everyone to contribute positively to the development of Goa and uphold its rich heritage.
